Romford Rose

We have a fantastic local Theatre 'The Queens Theatre' in Hornchurch which put on lots of plays by local actors.
If you buy a 'season ticket' it works out at about £11 a play with a programme.
Its a great little theatre and very rarely do we come out disappointed.

Tonights play was one written especially for the Theatre and was called 'The Romford Rose' about a family in Romford.
Based around a dysfunctional family (what - here in Romford??) the advertising for this play read thus:-

Rose is 18 today, it's party time in Romford… And it sure looks like that soldier boy Jack is tryin’ to tame this Romford Rose.
Well, her Daddy don’t like it, her Mama’s hittin’ the hooch… and it’s only Miss Dolly Parton who seems to understand. So how 'bout it Rose – you ever gonna make your own music and do what you want?

Very enjoyable apart from a couple of little scenes where I thought the writer tried to add his political views unnecessarily, but nonetheless a great night out
