Sleep, that knits up the ravel'd sleeve of care...

...or not, perhaps. One can only imagine the anxiety or rage contained within this gently padded surround. This one is at Dr Ghislain's museum in Ghent (http://www.museumdrguislain.be/en ), formerly a hospital founded and purpose-built (see extras) by the pioneering Flemish physician in the mid-19th century. Such methods may seem antique, but in fact similar techniques are alive and well (and earning profits, of course) in the 21st century:
