Colour Won Out

Invited for a feijoada with farofa and all the trimmings for lunch today, with Bia and family. And then had a mini-supper of Indonesian pancakes with our Dutch colleagues, unexpectedly, in their peaceful garden. And then got invited for soup with our landlords, who've arrived - I declined, but looks like we'll be having lunch with them tomorrow... So good to see them; they are a charming and loving couple. Mike's been up a ladder with him, picking oranges, and then looking at the house martin nests under their eaves - hoping he believes it's bad luck to get rid of them...

Also went to the Universidade Senior again - and the literature teacher was as good as ever - he so obviously loves literature, and believes in its power to change people.

You were going to get a sepia of the door handle at the old library where the classes are held, but when I saw the sun through this grapevine, down our land, afraid colour won out - again - one day I'll be sophisticated... Can you see the tiny grapes?
