Day 6: Doncaster - Grantham

Thanks everyone for the stars and lovely comments, I don't have much time to reply to all and often fairly flaky wife, but I really appreciate all of you taking the time to read about my "adventure" and commenting on it, Thank you!

Today was a bit grim! Really cold and misty until it became wet! I also found tharea a bit less interesting, so it was "head down and get on with it" for most of the day! Thankfully, the area was flat as a pancake (save two small climbs) and the wind was from the north, helping us along! There were some lovely villages and beautiful churches - we noticed how churches suddenly become much more visible, ornate, and remarkable south of York - and a lovely lunch stop at Newark-Upon-Trent. And we managed to avoid busy road until the last 10 miles, but the weather was so foul that it was hard to really enjoy. On the approach to Grantham, I found I had a puncture. It was pouring with rainm we were on a busy road with trucks zooming
past so decided to walk the 2 miles to the town centre and hope ti find somewhere which could gelp us - thank God for Halford! We left the bikes there and got to the Premier Inn for a night of luxury - hot showers and wine!!
