Day 7: Grantham - Corby

Another cold day! We started quite late since we had to pick up the bikes from Halford - then wait for the puncture to be re - repaired, since the tyre was flat again!!!
The road planning was good and we went on lovely little roads for most of the day. We made good progress and soon arrived at Uppingham, lovely place with lots of bookshops, where we had lunch. There, using the local facilities, I dropped one of my gloves down the loo as I pressed the flush... bye glove! I felt so stupid!
After that, it was a short ride to Corby but with a steep climb we we decided to walk - by then it was pouring with rain and we were on a busy road. In got in Corby in the pouring rainm absolutely soaked! The wonderful Amy is putting us up for the nightm has invited two other colleagues and has planned a feast with lashings of alcohol and lovely cocktails. Tomorrow may not be such an early start, thankfully it is a short day.
