Day 8: Corby -Milton Keynes

After such a great evening at Amy's where we also had the pleasure to see Joy and Tricia, we were glad thar today's stage was quite short (42 miles with very little climb). The area was also nicer than anticipated, we crossed lovely villages with thatched cottages and beautiful churches - notably Gettington with a very well preserved Eleanor Cross. Then the very impressive Boughton Estate - could have been Darcy's residence.
Later on we went through the Nene Valley lakes, full of wildlife... We did have a couple of navigation problem. First when we were directed though a muddy field. We pushed our bikes but they got caked in mud - thankfully we found a hose! Secondly, in the Nene Valley were the Garmin thought we were in water..
We got to Milton Keynes in the early evening. Thank you Kristine and Jimmy for your hospitality!
