Two of a Kind

Male and female Common Blue (I think) butterflies, plentiful today as we set off to walk across Barmouth Bridge with friends.  They were active around the Birds Foot Trefoil plants which are in flower here.  As I tracked the progress of a male he alighted near this female before doing what comes naturally.  A brief fling!

The bridge is the longest wooden rail bridge in the UK and has a footbridge/cycleway alongside.  The walk across the Mawddach estuary offers wonderful views of the river and surrounding mountains.  See extra
