It Works! No Leopards here.

This is the Giant Leopard's Bane, Doronicum pardalianches.

It is a hardy perennial, originally introduced to the UK as a medicinal plant in medieval times.  It has since become naturalised in many areas, particularly around here in Eastern Scotland.

It requires its roots to remain damp but also enjoys sunshine so thrives in woodland margins as here where the blue carpets of bluebells have been replaced by these yellow carpets (see 'extra').

They have soft, toothed, heart-shaped leaves and the ones on the flower stems have extra large lobes that surround the stem making the stem appear to puncture the leaf.

I wanted a group of three to form the composition for my blip but it was really hard to find such a group that was in isolation, was lit by sunlight, and had a dark background.  This was my best attempt.
