Running Sparkle

Marie and I had an early start today when we traveled up with Mark to the Christchurch Marathon, 1/2 Marathon,10km and Kids Marafun. We left at 05:30 for the 08:00 start. The members of Run Timaru ran exceptionally well. Ben felt dissapointed after hitting the wall at 36 km, he still finished strong and ran his hardest something he should be very proud of, not many people would have the courage let alone the determination to continue and finish as strong as he did. Martina ran 3 minutes faster making her 1/2 marathon a new Personal Best time. Andrea won the Masters Women NZ Half Marathon Championship  in her age group. Jesse made me very proud today, back in January we sat down and worked on a plan for him to Break 1:10.00 for the Half Marathon. Since that time Jesse has put in a huge amount of work changed his Job a few times and then only a few weeks ago began an Internship at Christchurch international Airport. This meant he had to pack up move away from home find accommodation and start work, 12 hour shifts 4 days a week. Today Jesse feeling under prepared and ready to hang up his running shoes if he ran poorly, crossed the finish line in 1:09.15 a new PB and fantastic run. Now my image, this is Running Sparkle or Sparkles to her gym buddies. Rebecca has a wonderful happy nature that is infectious in such a way that when you meet her you have no choice but to go away feeling good about yourself. Rebecca ran very well and is another one of the Run Timaru group that I run with and coach
Update:   Ben has won the 2016 Canterbury Marathon Title what an achievement : )
