The Way of Colour

Distressed

19C today with a complete blanket of grey cloud and hardly a breath of breeze. Felt cooler, but pleasant enough to be out in.

Just two Martins spotted whilst walking with Maeve the Deerhound down the bridle path today. No people on the beach at all. Two men sitting outside one of the Fishermen's huts, one of them being one of the most regular Fishermen. Having a cuppa with a friend today. Tide well out and boats beached. There was a lady, who I often see mending fishing gear, standing talking to them as Maeve and I passed by. Greetings were exchanged :-)

I had a wander round some boats at the Fishermen's huts and noticed a dingy had been taken out of a larger rowing boat and turned upside down and put down on the ground at the back of the dunes. It looked like a thin strip of wood has been fixed to part of the keel, possibly where it has worn down very badly during its journeys to and from the sea over the sand and pebbles. The blip is from the distressed fibreglass keel where it is still exposed.

Later there was mowing. Back lawns cut, and grass path (small) between two veg beds strimmed before the expected showers.
