Orkney Day 2: one last look

Sunshine and we were off early to  supposedly do a recce of Mainland but we got seriously distracted by the Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar. A World Heritage site of unbelievable grandeur and mystery, dating to around 3000BC. In fact we came back again on our way home to take one more look as the sun sort of was going down. Here's Himself and TJ discussing the meaning of it all. Good luck to that!!

We also managed to walk along windswept cliffs at Yesnaby and spotted the incredibly rare Orkney primrose (see extra), much excitement as it is so tiny. Stromness was also perused - a lovely little town of tiny windy streets and huge ferries, plus the best Orkney ice cream. I made it my duty to try as many flavours as possible and can report back that apple crumble is the all time favourite.
