In our garden, the further you get from the house the more things tend to be left to their own devices.  I guess this yellow plant, whose name I can't bring to mind just now, wandered off, as they do, and this aquilegia sowed itself, as they do. Now they are living in harmony right up at the very top, where I seldom do anything apart from pulling out the more aggressive weeds.

We had a lovely sunny morning, thunder and lightening this afternoon, and heavy rain is forecast for tonight. You can almost guarantee a downpour when the poppies and the peonies start to bloom. I expect they will be destroyed - but we do need some of the wet stuff.
