approaching storm

packed up the tent - amazing, it was dry! - and headed toward Keswick but took a detour along a short section of yesterday's race (had to be short as we didn't stay on the road long).
At mum's Mr Rat decided to try a run to see if he'd done any further damage to his rib on the aborted race yesterday and managed fine so it was probably a combination of weather, being in a race and worrying about it that was the problem.
In the afternoon I decided I needed to move so went for a short walk up Castlehead, though the views from the top were far too hazy. On the way back I got some nice flower pics but across the buttercup field a bit of sun was breaking through the gathering thunderclouds and lighting up the fell. I just got in in time. The storm wasn't unexpected, it had been so hot and humid.
