Great day with the 'village detectives' exploring the ships' graveyard up at Purton where the bank of the Severn was eroding so much towards the Sharpness Canal that many old barges and ships had to be driven into the bank at high tide and allowed to silt up and so delay/stop the erosion ( see extra)
