Bristol Byzantine - abstract thursday

This was designed to be a granary (lots of hope there!) with plenty of ventilation to make sure the grain didn't heat and catch fire.  It took so long to build, with the decorative  placement of the coloured bricks etc., that it was obsolete before it was finished and never used as a granary.  Some of the black bricks had to be painted black because they couldn't get enough!  It now has a fish restaurant below and very dark flats above.
