Sun down Andorra style

We had an enormously long day of travelling today. We were up at 5.15 and left Kelso at 6 am. This got us to Newcastle airport two hours before departure so no airport stress to deal with.

We got out of the Airport at Barcelona at about 1.30 local time then had to wait an hour and three quarters as the transfers to Andorra are fixed times. Again no stress we just relaxed and had coffee then sat in the over 40 degree heat.

After getting the bus at 3.15 it got us up to Andorra for 6.15. Allowing for the time difference it was 12 hours after we got up.

It was well worth it though, first impressions of Andorra are great. Our hotel is really nice and the room is huge. The weather is scorchio up here, it was still 24 degrees at 11pm. We checked into the hotel then, since restaurants up here don't open for dinner until 8pm we went to the supermarket and got some stuff for the fridge in the room, water, beer, wine and chocolate, just the essentials.

After that we headed out and had some cracking tapas and a really nice bottle of wine then headed out for a wander. It's fairly busy where we are staying, but there is a nice buzz about the place and it's not too far to get into the wilderness, fifteen minutes walk ether left or right from teh hotel would take you half way up a mountain. More importantly it's five minutes walk to the big spa that will no doubt be getting thoroughly investigated soon.
