Golden Carpet

The leaves on the flowering cherry tree in our garden have finally got the message that it is winter. It has adopted its autumn colouring very late this year with its leaves finally turning gold and dropping onto the lawn to form a golden carpet.
Contractors came to see us this afternoon to commence preparations for tar-sealing the parking areas around our garage and back yard. They brought a digger with them and used that to rip out some old tree stumps in the twinkling of an eye. Unfortunately rain stopped further work. They will be back early tomorrow morning.
I went to Camera Club tonight. I so enjoy just being an ordinary member these days with no responsibility for running the meetings! And it was great to catch up with good friends.
