The garden at 5 a.m.

Up before five, glass of water drunk, face washed and teeth cleaned.  No makeup.  I NEVER go out without putting my face on, until today.

Strangely calm and ready to go.

Postscript. Out of surgery by 10.30 am, back in my private room and eaten an egg sandwich and some crisps. Also had a pot of tea and now need the loo but not allowed up on my own.
