Learning day by day

Stocks

Today was our school fete. Will couldn't sleep last night, he was too excited because as a member of the School Council he had the dubious honour of spending some time in the stocks! His time started off with his bestie having two turns a throwing sponges at him, then a year six or two, then the nearly 12 year old that has to put up with him to and from ballet every Wednesday and finally Poppa. Or at least that was it until Carys piped up that she had bought a bucket, so she got to throw five sponges at him and then with a little help from me she poured the remains of the water in the bucket over him. He was a fantastic sport, although he didn't like the water going in his eyes. His quote of the day was "I was very poplear in the stocks today!" One wonders why and yes that is poplear not popular.

Before that he had a reasonably good violin lesson, considering his excitement levels, doing some rhythm work on the piano, before transferring it to the violin. Still having a few tuning issues on the bigger violin, but it is definitely improving.  Carys got to stay at home with Daddy until N&P arrived and they wandered up to the fete around 11.30.

Back home the kids played and irritated each other in the garden, then watched some TV then football before tea. Will and I head off to London tomorrow for a concert at the Barbican. Carys has her day planned out.
