All in Pink

Today was the British Orienteering Sprint Championships in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford . Orienteering as a sport typically labels events with competitive names but a lot of the least competitive orienteers annually turn up for the "Sprint Championships"  because the event comprises short courses and easy orienteering round some park or other. The idea is, of course, to sprint round as fast as possible  but today in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park there were a lot of orienteering tourists using the event for an excuse to visit the park.   Even Mr P "competed",  carefully watching his heartbeat on his GPS watch to make sure it did not go over 120 and slowing down if it did.  Yes he was last but happy to have taken part.

My club was helping on "download" which means we take the results from the electronic finger that all participants wear to record which checkpoints they have visited.  All helpers were issued with fetching pink T shirts. I was looking forward to taking photos in the park but what with helping on download, the obligatory chatting between the morning and afternoon events and the heavy rain in the afternoon , I only managed shots of the helpers.
