Mona Lisa of the Hedgerows

A "rest day" today with a lie-in and a brunch of outstanding Sole Bay kippers. I then went for a stroll across the heath and along a track to the sea, where I sat and enjoyed the tranquility for a hour before strolling back. It has been a bit overcast and did try to rain briefly, but on the whole it was quite pleasant. On my walk I saw a red deer doe, lots of Linnets and Yellowhammers on the heath, some Curlews flying past over the sea, and this solitary Painted Lady in the hedgerow.
