Isle of Mull and Iona

Today we traveled by ferry to the Isle of Mull where we caught a bus across Mull to another small ferry to Iona. The first ferry ride was about 45 minutes long, then almost an hour on the bus with a hilarious driver. He could have been a standup comedian. Another 10 minutes over to Iona. The landscape on both islands was so striking and none of my photos did them justice. On Iona we walked out to the old abbey and enjoyed the cloisters there and the beautiful views, with sheep grazing right outside. We also saw some highland cows (hairy coo). 

I would have loved more time over there. We have been so lucky with the weather. It was cool and partly cloudy all day. No rain, which apparently is very rare. Tomorrow we head back to Edinburgh and Wednesday we head home. A great vacation.
