Stunning Red-head On A Dismal Day

We had a huge electric storm last night and a deluge this morning. I was quite surprised by how many bugs there were about when Jazzy and I went down the field. I suppose that the difference is that it has stayed warm, unlike when we had the last wet spell. We even found a lone common blue butterfly braving the damp, my first of the season. (Extras)

My pic is of a red-headed cardinal beetle. I didn't take Latin but I think its scientific name means serrated horns. It's 'horns' are showing up well against an ox-eye daisy in another, favourite, area of our property that I have persuaded MrQ not to mow. :)
