Sgwarnog: In the Field

Shutters

Our last morning in Bordeaux before catching a flight home, but still a chance to explore more of the city.

We took the tram over the river to the Botanic Gardens which provided an attractive and educational floral display. On a cool, dull morning there were not the butterflies I'd originally hoped for, but we did stir a couple of moths from the vegetation.

We then followed the runners route along the river side to Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas (extra). This is a former quayside and industrial area with one great hulking mill (extra) but plenty of wildflower meadows, camping grounds and art markets.

Having crossed back over the river it was time to head back to the apartment to finish packing up and hand keys back to our host. The main image is of some of the shutter murals that adorned the neighbourhood that we were staying in.
