Desperately seeking

Growing Better

I had some business to do down the A6 south of Penrith so I asked The Man if he fancied coming with me and calling in at Larch Cottage Nurseries, at Melkinthorpe, on the way back.

It was a mistake to go so late! Next time we will go in time for morning coffee, look at some plants, have lunch, look at some more plants..... the place is enormous. The planting schemes are inspiring and the nursery grows unusual varieties, about 15,000, some unique to them in the UK.

We've been visiting this garden centre since its opening in the mid-eighties and watched it grow and grow or should I say expand and expand?
