Hill Top Ramblings

A special day

I was so lucky today. Pepper had to visit the vet first thing, and as consolation we decided to go to Howe Ridding for a walk, even though it was rather overcast.
Initially the few butterflies we saw were sitting rather gloomily waiting for a sunny interlude.
Then magically the skies cleared overhead and we had half an hour of blazing sunshine with butterflies flitting about everywhere. And then a very special one appeared, the Dark Green Fritillary! And not just one, by the end of our walk we had spotted 12! They are so big and zoom about like little gliders. Makes for quite an exotic feel.
All thanks to Pepper!
