Snow Down Under

GARDEN PLATES:

Because his Mother was born in Glasgow, my late husband loved nothing better than visiting bonnie Scotland, & so it happened we had tickets for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh on the 24th June, 1986. It was very spectacular with lots of razzmatazz, helicopters, jet fighters, highland dancing etc. but the highlight was to witness one thousand pipers converge from all corners of the stadium. They were so impressive in their kilts & the noise was deafening but Max sat proudly in quiet ecstasy with tears rolling down his cheeks. Happy memories !
