Drama production -- oh, and Jpeg settings

In my 1 Feb blip I spoke about jpeg optimisations for the G3, which involved increasing sharpness and lowering noise reduction in the camera.
An unfortunate side effect can be seen here, where a high ISO gives a poor jpeg image with pronounced banding because of the lowered noise reduction.
In this photo from an evening outdoor drama event the jpeg optimisations have been reversed, and although the ISO isn't nearly as high as the cat picture there is enough to make me to think that if using jpegs at high ISO then turn the NR back up and sharpening back down, and sharpen in PP. A max ISO experiment is needed -- watch this space!
