The Butterfly and the Poppy

Today's the day ........................... to match your flower

If I hadn't seen this cabbage white butterfly land on the alpine poppy in my new rock garden, it was so beautifully camouflaged that I probably wouldn't have noticed it at all.  It must have felt perfectly at home surrounded by the creamy yellow/green shades of the poppy.

I've noticed that some weeds use that trick too.  They grow beside plants that have similar sort of leaves - so that by the time you notice them, they've grown quite big.
