Gourmand

This evening we intended to go to the restaurant in the village for a dîner en amoureux, but when we got there it was closed because the chef was catering for a wedding, undoubtedly more lucrative. So instead we went to old standby Le Clos in Fabrezan. S had these massive prawns. For my starter I had salade gourmande which I expected to be lots of salad and a little foie gras. Actually it was a huge slab of foie gras and a little salad. Shame :)

Yesterday evening we went to the cinema, again, to see Ma Loute. It had Fabrice Luchini and Juliette Binoche in it. How could it go wrong? Well, we lasted half an hour. It was ghastly; we could not laugh at any of the gags, and it wasn't just us -- no-one else was laughing either. And the running time was two hours! Eventually I said, "The next time someone falls over, we're leaving". Thirty seconds later the deckchair Fabrice Luchini was sitting in collapsed, so off we went. Thank goodness tickets at Le Palace are only 5 euros.
