poppy pods

Too many ex-flowers in the garden for July. Weather related no doubt.

The poppies were vibrant when the had their little waxy skirts, but now they are pieces of border architecture.

I will photograph them again when they have decayed to skeletons, that's when they become fragile and bone-like.
