All Dried Up

Textures No. 2

A warm start with a light breeze.   However, it is now very windy but sunny.

A trip to the doctors for a simple follow up appointment took most of the morning.   The appointment was for 10.18 am and we were there in plenty of time as usual.   At our Doctors, and in fact anywhere - bank, supermarket etc, it is customary to ask who is the last or what time your appointment is.   We of course asked and there were still patients waiting with times of 09.15 am!

So we waited and waited and a few patients came and went.   Then one of the Receptionist came in from a nearby cafe bearing coffees.   She went in and out several times and took them into one of the nursing stations.   We discovered it was her birthday and she had brought cake and proceeded to knock on each Doctors' door to tell them it was set out.   Our Doctor had just taken patients in when he abandoned them and went and had his coffee and cake next door!   Unbelievable!   

My Blip today is of the cracking earth showing how dry it is now.   This area is in the Walkway where I go with Holly and is an area where the water collects after heavy rain.   It is some time since it rained but it reminded me a little of watering holes in Africa and the like, drying up in the drought.
