A Lot of Progress

The shaping of the slab ends is almost finished. The hardest part is done.

For woodworking nerds only, the stages (see extras) were as follows:
1. Sawing to rough shape.   
2. Trimming large radius with router -- two cuts required, due to the thickness of the slab. The first cut used a top-bearing cutter following a template. The slab was then turned over, and a bottom-bearing cutter used the first cut surface as a guide.
3. Corners were shaped with a block plane.
