Pass the salt please!

I consider myself a lover of nature in almost every form but even I find it hard to have anything positive to say about slugs. The heavy showers and relatively high temperatures have led to an explosion of the repulsive little (or not so little) critters in my mum's garden. I suppose these shell-less snails make a quick and easy meal for various birds as well as hedgehogs but frankly they're welcome to them!
