Verbascum

This is Verbascum thapsus, the common mullein. Another introduction from Europe that has become naturalized. On April 3, I posted a shot of the basal leaves, and this week the plant is flowering. The spike as seen in the first picture is about 6 feet high. The other two shots show the individual flowers on the spike and the leaves.

Not nearly so hot today and a bit cloudy. There has been rain further south, round Wichita, but we have yet to see any.

I have yet to figure out how to add a link when it asks for an http. I tried to provide a link to April 3, but was not successful. Please tell me how to do it!
