One Dog And His Ducks

After a very early reveille (Sophie is normally far more considerate about what time she wakes up when she sleeps over, but is a bit under the weather at the moment) we took her back to Kate & Joel this morning and we all went to the Summer Country Fair at a school in their village.

It's a pretty unique school in that it's a State boarding school for boys with an interest in agriculture and horticulture with its own farm and gardens. As it happens I did a lot of work there with the English department in my time as a consultant but this was the first time I'd been back since I retired so it was interesting to see it again.

As well as the normal stalls and attractions , there were displays of vintage farming machinery, tractors and cars, the boys were judged on their grooming and handling of sheep and cattle the main arena and there was this display of sheepdog handling. As you can see from the audience it was carefully observed by a discerning audience.

A few feathers were ruffled (and lost) when the dogs got a little too close for comfort!
