ST GEORGE'S HOSPITAL, TOOTING

A long drive and I had forgotten what London traffic is like. How does anyone arrange to be somewhere at a given time! We made it to the hospital shortly before visiting time and found S much chirpier than we had expected. The transfusion seems to have been successful and though still in a lot of pain he said he was feeling better. Fingers crossed it has worked.

The view is from his window with a constant flow of ambulances. The flat roof opposite had several small wooden sheds on top with masses of coloured cables leading from them and in through the walls of the hospital. Something  to do with filming "24 hours in A & E". I wonder if they caught the moment when someone threw their dinner plate and contents out of a window opposite yesterday evening?

Both much happier now that we have seen him, we left S to await his next visitor. While there we had booked  B&B, and an evening meal for 7:30pm. Getting out of London was as much fun as getting in and the real fun started when we were on the motorway and the storms hit. We could barely see a few yards in front of us. Fortunately everyone drove sensibly and once off the motorway the rainfall lessened a bit. By then I had phoned the hotel/restaurant to let them know we would never get there in time for dinner but they very kindly said they would keep the booking until later. We arrived there at 8:58pm!!

The food was delicious. If only we had not been too tired to enjoy it fully. The hotel was lovely too, The Orange Tree at Thornham, Norfolk, if anyone fancies a treat.

Extras are London rain, and Concorde cloud.
