Hairy Caterpillar

After yesterday's birthday celebrations we brought home a couple of canine guests...our daughter's two dogs are staying with us for a few days whilst she has a beak in Cumbria with the family. The dogs were very excited to see Finlay - lots of barking and running around the garden.

On our walk up the old A1 layby we came across this really hairy caterpillar crawling across the footpath. I'm not entirely sure that one of the dogs didn't tread on it, so it may have been dead when I knelt down to photograph it!

Appalling football match on the TV this evening - what a bunch of idiots. England out of Europe twice within four days...
