Rags of light

This is the second volume of poems by my good friend Kathy. By day she's Head of English at a grammar school. She writes beautiful poems, often with themes from nature. The cover photo of a falcon reflects her fascination with birds.

We met many years ago on a poetry course taught by Carol Ann Duffy and Gillian Clarke. The first is now the Poet Laureate, the other is the National Poet of Wales. Both wonderful people.

The same can't be said of some of the other participants on the course. Kathy and I bonded very quickly as we shared a room with a woman who snored incredibly loudly and was equally noisy when awake. This plus the pseud count on the course united us and we used to spend our free time drinking wine in solidarity!
