I read today that wearing a safety pin on the outside of clothing is a visible sign that the wearer is safe. They won't abuse others for being different, looking different, thinking differently, coming from a different place, going on a different journey or for embracing difference. Recent events have revealed that for some, our country is ill at ease with itself and with others. Fear, anger and resentment seem to be more evident than before. Now is a time for safe places and safe people.
