Black Agnes

Just putting finishing touches to the children's dressing up clothes for Dunbar Museum 

I've made two tabards, one is a knight and the other which accompanies this head dress is for Black Agnes... 

This is pretend/dressing up clothing to give the flavour of the period, so I was aiming for low budget, but with a  bit of integrity and a three dimensional element, that would be durable and easy for wee ones to  take on and off...  I think this will work quite well.

It's been quite nice to get back to doing something creative that isn't centred around little un... It has had to be squeezed into free moments once little un has gone to bed and when she's occupied playing with her Dad or her Granny,  but I have now proved the principle that I can work from home... So hopefully I'll be able to get a few more projects like this...

In other family news... 
Little un is finally recovering from her recent bug... 

Dave has been darting back and forth down to Englandshire to see his Dad, who isn't too well at the mo.

We're now just gearing up for summer holidays, so Little un had her end of term/ sports day/ party at playgroup...  I was delighted to join the ranks of mums holding up smart phones to video their little angels running in the wrong direction and dropping their potatoes in the spud and spoon race... One of those slightly surreal - proper mum moments for me... 

We've also been enjoying hanging out with various friends, at the museum and in the village... I'm looking forward to the summer holidays as an opportunity to get to know some of the other local families a bit better, as we're starting to feel a part of the community now, with budding friendships sprouting up around us.

Tiddlypom had another of her ratty bad tempered weeks and true to form has made another jump in her learning and language... with playing skills, talking and comprehension all making another leap... So the grumpy cloud has a silver lining.
