Threipmuir Reservoir

A mostly aimless sort of day. Nobody could decide what to do or where to go so we ended up going nowhere! We were also waiting for the newlyweds to turn up so they could be taken to the airport for their honeymoon in the Dordogne.

I managed a great run up into the Pentlands and then along the Waters of Leith and we both strode out on a brisk walk around the reservoirs where this shot was taken before departing for the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh to see Barbara in a performance by the Rock Choir.

Prior to listening to the Choir we ate at Jamie's (Oliver) Italian. Food was tasty but the meat platter starter came without any bread and if you were the designated driver, didn't want a sugary drink or anything with caffeine in it you had to have water. This is in a restaurant chain run by someone who is campaigning against sugary drinks and charges a 10p levy on soft drinks to support a foundation to reduce the amount of sugar in soft drinks. Is that weird thinking or what?

Rock Choir was very good, enthusiastic singers supported by an equally enthusiastic audience cheering for their mums, daughters, wives and probably mistresses. Could have done with more male voices to add some variety and range to the songs.

Finished the evening off with cocktails at The Dome, although the Kent contingent didn't imbibe owing to me being the designated driver and the fact we have the long haul south to Kent tomorrow.
