A summers evening Astrantia

A lovely day weather wise, breezy, blue skies and fluffy white clouds...perfect gardening weathe......and boy did our gardening need some attention!

Spent almost the whole day deadheading, tying in, staking, cutting back, weeding, cleaning the pond of duckweed and green algae!!

Hub has been tending his greenhouse, first tomatoes not far off, first cucumber in the kitchen ;-), lots of soft fruit now ripe...plenty and pies and crumbles to make soon!!! He's also fed the lawn which is looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment!

We went for a walk first thing, got the papers, had a coffee before getting stuck in!! A break for dippy eggs and soldiers for lunch, before heading out in th garden again! I was tying up this astrantia this evening when noticed the dappled sunlight lighting it up rather prettily....a quick trot indoors for my camera and hey presto!!

I've roast a leg of pork which has been marinated in Olive oil, lemon juice and rind, garlic chilli and smoked paprika...smells rather nice! Home grown sliced roasted potatoes, cauliflower cheese and runner beans to go with it......should be ready shortly!
