Botanic Gardens

Early start this morning with a taxi to Edinburgh Airport at 5am.  I seem to spot someone famous every time I visit an airport and this time it was Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting, behind me going through security.  Passed through security in time to meet Holly's friends Catherine and Benny for a bit before they jetted off to Thailand.

Copenhagen Airport was simple to negotiate, and the train station underneath the arrivals building made it easy to get into Copenhagen's Central Station.  From there, we checked into the hotel, before heading out to explore.

We managed to find a little outdoor cafe for lunch, then went for a wander around the main shopping area, the Botanic Gardens and Rosenborg Slot, before heading back to the hotel.

At night, we decided to head in the other direction from the hotel. It started off well, but after spotting one "men's bar", we quickly saw more, along with strip clubs and sex shops and some unsavoury looking characters on the streets.  We moved quickly to a better area and found a restaurant for dinner.

After dinner, we made our way to the Hard Rock Cafe for a few drinks, and found England v Iceland on TV. After a cautious start, we soon realised that the Danes were against England too!

Round of 16:
Italy 2, Spain 0
England 1, Iceland 2
