The Little Mermaid

After being in our feet most of the week, we opted to sit on a bus today.  We got off for a bit of a walk at Christiania. We missed out on Pusher Street, infamous for its drug dealers, and went to the Copenhagen Street Food market instead. Part of an old warehouse, it's full of converted camper vans and shipping containers with food from all sorts of countries around the world. It has a very chilled out, hipster atmosphere.

On the way back to the bus, we passed a boat reeking of marijuana, and pubs that reminded us of some of the shadier, traditional bars in Scotland.

Next stop on the bus was maybe Copenhagen's best known attraction, the Little Mermaid.  We considered not getting off, but decided you can't go to Copenhagen and not see it.  Another quick stop though as there isn't really much to see, and the bus finished its tour back at the Central Station.  From there, we headed to a bar for a seat and a few drinks to round off our week.

Back to the hotel for our bags, then the train to the airport.  There was a long wait at the baggage drop, and delays at the gate, so it was good to get there early. We stopped for some dinner in between times, and some last minute shopping.

On the flight back we were sitting next to a Norwegian guy travelling to Edinburgh for a night, before he travelled to Inverness to sail the Caledonian Canal.  He was another to ask about Brexit, and found it funny that we'd want to leave the EU.

We landed in Edinburgh just after 11pm, and got the bus from the plane to the terminal.  Being early for the flight meant our suitcase was one of the first unloaded, so we were able to rush through passport checks and find a taxi.  Back to Holly's by around midnight, to end a really long day, both of us glad to be off our feet.

Quarter Final:
Wales 3, Belgium 1
