Tivoli 2

Thursday was a day for walking around the local sights, but we started out at the Lego store. We had tried on Monday, but it was too busy.  Kitted out with some new mini figures, we went to the Amalienborg Palace for the Changing of the Guard.  Interesting to see the parade, and hear the guards shouting at anyone who even sat on the steps of the Palace.

After the Palace, we walked through Nyhavn, and along Strøget to the Rundetaarn, the Round Tower.  It's a quirky tower with no steps, but a sloped path that turns seven and a half times round the building.  Some good views from the top despite a quick shower, though I did drop my lens cap at the top.

At lunchtime, we made our way to the Torvehallene food market. An amazing range of food and drink, in two covered halls.  We enjoyed some fresh food, along with a glass of wine for Holly and a pint of Danish lager for me.  On the way back, we popped into another bar for a drink.

At night we got dressed up, and headed out to Tivoli again for our last full night in Copenhagen.  Dinner, wine, Carlsberg, then a ride on the Ferris Wheel.  We then had a few games of Gallopen, winning a couple of prizes, before getting some ice cream by the lake.  I asked someone to take our picture, to find that the woman was English. She told me I smelt lovely, what I was wearing? As I stood back beside Holly, she said, "ooh, you smell gorgeous!" Quite a funny moment!

Having been on Tuesday night, we were able to pick the best spot for the illuminations tonight.  Smoke, fountains and laser lights creating an impressive show.  A great way to spend our last night here.

More extras uploaded tonight...
