Mark Makes It!

We've had a great 24 hours so far with cousin Mark who came up for a cycling outing.  It all, however, seemed destined not to go as planned...

We canned yesterday because the weather was atrocious.
Rich and I developed a queasy bug yesterday morning.
Mark realised he forgot his helmet in the middle of the night.

But it's actually been a superb day out.  

The weather improved hour by hour.
Rich and I felt better mile by mile.
And we discovered a local cycling shop that opens at 7.30am on a Sunday morning!

We headed on a route I did a while ago up Littondale and around to Pen-y-ghent before heading home from Settle.  The views were stunning, we barely got wet this morning and the sun was magnificent this afternoon.

This is Mark - rather pleased, I think, that he's at the top of the steep bit!

It's been a grand day out.  
And Little Dog enjoyed her spa day too.
