Bellbird and Tui

On the way home from an appointment in Nelson Blipmate and I stopped to visit the bird hide again. To begin with there was no food out and no birds but when a chap came along and put out a range of food, the birds were not far behind him.

It was horrible conditions for photography in the hide. Cold and dark and the openings, although good to brace the cameras on, were just a bit high up for us shorties. Added to that were the non stop sneezing bouts I  am having with my cold.

None of the pics were really sharp and this tui was probably the best of the bunch. In the extras is a  slightly blurry bell bird and a slightly blurry tui. both with their tongue out a little bit. Good enough to show the colouring of 2 of our native song birds.

Regardless, It was fabulous to see them so close.
