The Fourth of July and official pension day for Chris not Independence Day!

A lovely morning and after clearing up yesterday's BBQ remains we took a stroll on to the Potting Shed at Woodbank for a birthday brunch. Amazing how many people we met and chatted to on the way there and back as well as inside the cafe. It's that kind of village.

All a bit much for the birthday boy who you can see here in his 'old man's chair', his birthday present from the family, though he has had it since January. You can see he has got used to it's relaxing qualities!

The sun has gone now and Chris has too, to mend the tap in the church kitchen. No rest for a church warden, even on his birthday!

He'll be doing some celebrating in the pub tonight with his set building friends though, pub quiz too. No place for snoozing there.
