Bolton Castle

We had warm, sunny weather for a few hours today - it actually felt like summer. We wandered through the outdoor areas of Bolton Castle and looked round the garden. There were a number of birds of prey in cages, which were interesting to see - especially the owls. We had to wait over 30 mins for our cooked meal in the tea rooms, but it was well worth the wait - fantastic food! We then went up to the top of the castle to see the incredible views over Wensleydale. Back to the car just before 3 pm., when the first drops of rain fell as we got in - two hours earlier than it was forecast. We then headed into Leyburn to get our week's grocery shopping from a fantastic family grocers. We got parked by the kerb right outside the shop - the only space in the whole square! We got the shopping into the car and also unpacked back at the house without getting rained on as there was a break in the showers. Then the heavens opened again once we were indoors. We really felt very blessed today.

Oh, and I got to see Andy Murray beat Nick Kyrios in the fourth round of Wimbledon - very nicely timed for me to catch all of it :-))
